This can be given by mouth every thirty days. Cats usually will not eat this if hidden in (mixed with wet food).
Using flea topical/collars is the best prevention for tapeworms, but you can't keep them all away.  If you are a multi pet household and your cats are treated for fleas but you have dogs that go in and out your cats can still get tapeworms by eating a random infected flea.  I've used these de-worming capsules for years.  These are very cost effective and always work.
