I'm offering up one of the most stunning cast bola ties I have ever seen by the talented Larry Martinez Chavez.
This amazing piece just draws you eyes to it instantly. From the stunning Bisbee cab at it's center, to the rough overlay casting set off by 18 K gold accents, and the intricate stamp work, you just don't know where to look. Every time I look at it I see a new design element. Just outstanding!
And not for the faint of heart either as this is a large statement piece measuring 3 3/8" across. The dark blue/black gem grade Bisbee cab is an impressive 14 x 18 mm set in a gold bezel. Even the tips of the 3/8" leather cord are large at 1 1/4" in length.
It weighs in at 194 g or 6.85 oz. A lot of that is cord, but it is still a big piece.
Signed and Hallmarked by the artist. You only see his older work come up on eBay, his new designs all go to galleries.
It is with deep sadness that I have learned of the passing of this wonderful artist due to the COVID virus. What a shame that another great talent has been lost and my sympathies go out to his family. May you walk in piece Mr. Chavez.
