Medicap MNManganese Implants for Trees
Standard 3/8" -- 10 pack
Manganese 28%
These
Standard 3/8" implants 10 pack
will effectively treat up to a 14" trunk diameter. The 3/8" implants were made for trees with a 3" or greater diameter.
Manganese implants are useful in trees where manganese deficiencies are difficult to control by foliage or soil feeding. Such deficiencies are normally associated with calcareous, arid, or sandy soil conditions. Trees most susceptible are maple (red, sugar, Norway), peach, ornamental cherry, citrus, palms and certain deciduous fruit.
Standard 3/8" Instructions:
The implants are to be placed at 4 inch spacing (3 inches for severe deficiency) around the lower tree trunk in an upward spiral pattern. To determine the number of implants required, measure the trunk diameter at 4' off the ground. Then multiply by 3.14 and divide by 4 (inches).
Using a 3/8 inch diameter drill bit, drill the implant holes to a depth of 1.25" beneath the inner bark layer. Place the implants into the holes, pressing them firmly until they are tightly inside the holes, Then, gently tap them in, using a hammer and blunt instrument (dowel rod or bolt) until they are seated just beneath the inner bark and inside of the cambium layer.
This treatment provides long-lasting control - usually 2-3 years.
