**DESCRIPTION** Offered for sale is this vintage, mid 20th century turquoise nugget/slab and olive shell heishi double strand strand necklace, strung traditionally on twisted, waxed twine. The stones are large, stabilized, and exceptionally pretty with dark a matrix.
This necklace was purchased from an estate sale in Albuquerque, New Mexico where its previous owners had been collectors of local Native American jewelry, pottery and art. I was informed this piece was from Santo Domingo Pueblo and dates from the 1960s. However, it carries no artist hallmarks, so I can't say I am 100% certain of this history.  It is definitely in the style of traditional Santo Domingo necklaces, and with it being on its original waxed twine makes highly likely it is a Native American jewelry piece.
**CONDITION** This piece is in excellent vintage condition, with no repairs, cracks chipping, or scratches. Please see all photos above, which have been carefully taken to give an accurate representation of this item. These photos should be considered as part of the description.
**DIMENSIONS** The longer strand is approximately  28" Long and the shorter is 27". The turquoise chunks are graduated in size from between 1 1/4" to 1/2" wide by 1/8 to 1/4" thick.
