    Description

    Welcome!
WHAT IS GREAT ABOUT IT: This is a very special ring with exceptional carved turquoise leaf of natural
    dendritic
Lone Mountain turquoise mine stone with one sagebrush stamped raindrop and one plain raindrop made by the renowned Ben Eustace of Zuni and Cochiti Pueblo. In the early 1960s Ben Eustace became very famous for this type of work though this is a top notch, superb and very rare example. This piece is entirely hand done and it dates early, to before the 1950s. This artist carved the turquoise by hand based on what the stones told him. He was born in 1920, a Zuni silversmith, noted for his nugget and leaf jewelry and in fact the Eustace family is known as the developers of silver leaf jewelry as well as carved turquoise, coral, and shell into floral and leaf forms, bezel set in silver. Ben Eustace believed the stones had spirit and one must treat them with respect because they are alive and part of Mother Earth. His work was collected by C. G. Wallace. When he married his wife, Felecia Jones, he moved from his Pueblo to her Pueblo: Cochiti, and they had 13 talented artistic children as well as numerous brilliant grandchildren. He used his sagebrush stamp on the front of this ring and it became his hallmark later but he lost this stamp in the 50's, so we know it's an earlier piece. The silver leaf is
convex and hand chiseled and it is backed flat so it is comfortable to wear and completely finished in the workmanship. Everything is hand made on this exceptional ring. I wear it with his bracelet (which you can see in the pics above), available separately in my store.
CONDITION: excellent vintage, wearable and collectible. This is a masterpiece.
